How to solve the problem of computer gateway ping?

How to solve the problem of pinging the gateway? I believe many users have encountered this situation. Recently, some users are reporting that the ping is unreachable. What is going on? In fact, there are many reasons for this situation, so how to solve this problem? The following small series introduces you to the solution of the computer Ping nowhere gateway.

Solution:

1, too impatient. That is, the network cable just plugs into the switch and wants to ping the gateway, ignoring the convergence time of the spanning tree. Of course, newer switches support fast spanning tree, or some administrators simply turn off the spanning tree protocol for the access port, and the problem is solved.

2. Some router ports do not allow users to ping.

3, access control. Regardless of how many hops are spanned in the middle, as long as there are nodes (including end nodes) that filter ICMP, Ping is not normal. The most common is the behavior of the firewall.

4, multi-route load balancing occasions. For example, the ping remote destination host, the successful reply and the timed out interleaving, found that there are two routes to the destination network segment on the gateway router. The two routing weights are equal, but there is a problem in checking a route.

5, the network delay due to the device is too large, resulting in ICMPecho packets can not be received within the default time (2 seconds). There are several reasons for the delay, such as the line (the satellite network delay is 540 milliseconds), the Hong Kong server leases the router to handle the delay, or the route design is unreasonable to cause the roundabout path. If you use the extended ping to increase the timedout time, you can ping the channel if it is too large.

6, the introduction of NAT will cause one-way ping. NAT can be used to hide the internal address. When the ping is outside, the ping can be performed because the mapping relationship of the NAT table exists. When the internal host is pinged, the NAT entry of the border router cannot be found.

7. Specify the extended address of the source address. Log in to the router and ping the remote host. When the ICMP echorequest is sent from the serial WAN interface, the router will specify an IP address as the source IP. The address may not be the IP of this interface or this interface does not have an IP address at all. A downstream router may not have a route to the IP network segment, and the ping fails. You can use extended ping to specify the source IP address.

8, IP address allocation is not continuous. The problem with address planning is that mines are buried in the network, and overlapping addresses or discontinuous mask partitions may cause problems when pinging. For example, in an extreme case, the two hosts A and B are connected by multiple hops. A can ping the gateway of B, and the gateway of B is set correctly, but A and B are pinged. After investigation, there is a second address on the network card of B, and this address overlaps with the network segment where A is located.

The above is the solution for the computer Ping nopass gateway introduced by Xiaobian. If the user also encounters the problem of "the computer Ping does not pass the gateway" in the process of using the computer, try the above steps to try it out.
