Make the command prompt more intimate

  
                  

Usually, when we need to work at the command prompt, it is generally necessary to operate in a specific directory, but in Windows XP/2003, the default current directory of the Command Prompt window is "C:\\Documents adn Settings \\, the following method can change the default current directory of the command prompt:

1. In Win XP, click Start /Control Panel /Performance and Maintenance /Administrative Tools /Computer Management. In Win 2003, click Start /Administrative Tools /Computer Management.

2. In the left pane, expand System Tools /Local Users and Groups /Users, then in the right pane, right-click the user name you want to change, and then click Properties.

3. Click the "Profile" tab, in the "Local Path" box under the "Main Folder" heading, you can enter the working path of the command prompt you want, for example, type "D:\\", click " Confirm button. After restarting the computer, when you click "Start" /"All Programs" /"Accessories" /"Command Prompt" again, the current directory of the open Command Prompt window is the root directory of the D drive.
