---- WINDOWS NT Caozuoxitong since its launch to its simple, friendly interface, powerful, etc. The advantage is soon to have a place in NOS. With the approach of 2000, the author consulted the relevant sites, books, and conducted corresponding testing work. Now I have compiled the 2000 problems and solutions for WINDOWS NT4.0 as follows, and hope to benefit readers. Notebook repair

First, test object:

---- Windows NT Sever 4.0 (Simplified Chinese version)

Second, test methods and phenomena:

1. When the system time is set to 2000/2/29, the system displays an error message:
"February only has 28 days in this year."
2, set the date as follows, NT will jump One day:
(1), set the system time to "11:59:55 PM" in the control panel <2>, set the date to any day (such as 1998/1/1) < BR>(3), click "apply"
(4), change the system time to 1999/7/1 <5> (5) within 5 seconds, and reset the system time to "11:59" :55 PM", and click "apply". After 5 seconds, the system date will jump directly from 1999/7/1 to 1999/7/3.
3, when using the lookup tool provided by NT to find files or folders, the date display will be wrong. For example, when the system time is 2001, when you specify the search time period, you will find that 2001 is displayed as ":1" instead of "01" in the time dialog.
4, after 2000, when viewing the print queue through the client in the network, it will be found to be incorrect or not working.
5, when the system time is set to 2000/2/29, the following may occur:
(1), you will find that it is not the leap year of February or 29 days.
(2), when you change the time to another date, and click "apply", then the time on the task bar is not the date you changed.
6, after 2000, FPNW client can not display the correct time or date.
7, after January 1, 2000, NT on the IBM PS /1 can not start.

Third, the solution:

1, first download the Chinese version of the SP4 program file SP4i386.exe (installed NT OptionPack or IIS 4.0 users are best to install SP3, then install IE4 And IIS4, and finally install SP4.)
2, then download Microsoft Data Access Components 2.0 SP2, and run MDAC_typ.exe
3, execute SP4i386.exe -x command (note that you must add -x parameter), Select the target directory as C:\\SP4
4. After the extraction is complete, go to the C:\\SP4\\update directory and execute y2ksetup.exe to restart.
5, download and install Microsoft has announced a patch for Y2KUPD specifically for the y2k problem after installing SP4.

---- Note: The above patches are available for download at ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/bussys/winnt/winnt- public/fixes/usa/NT40TSE/, or for free.
