(1) Run the Registry Editor and expand the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SYSTEM\\CurrentControlSet\\Services. (2) Click the “File → Export” menu command. In the dialog box that appears, click the “Select Branch” option to export and save the registry contents under this branch as a REG file. If you need to restore the system service, you can directly double-click the REG file to import the registry. 2. Put the Windows XP installation CD into the CD-ROM drive and set the CD-ROM boot to priority in the BIOS. Available types include Service_disabled, Service_boot_start, Service_system_start, Service_auto_start, and Service_demand_start. Let's take the example of disabling system help in Windows XP by first setting the startup type of the service to disabled and then re-enabling it.
