Windows 2000 volume control

  

The volume adjustment function provided by Windows 2000 allows the user to easily change the volume of sound playback, recording and voice input. If the installed sound card can support the volume control function of Windows 2000, then the task will be after starting Windows 2000. The status bar section on the right side of the bar displays the volume control icon. Double-click on the icon to open the Windows 2000 Volume Control window (as shown in Figure 7-21).

In the "Volume Control" window, the user can adjust the volume control unit, which includes volume control, line input, waveform, CD audio, MIDI and PC speakers. Volume control unit. In each unit, drag the slider in the Volume section up or down to change the volume of the unit, and drag the slider in the EQ section to balance the volume between the two fields.

Since the Volume Balance unit adjusts the volume of all other units, the user can drag the slider of the Volume Balance unit to change all volume effects. When you enable the Mute All check box for the Volume Balance unit, you can mute all cells with them. If you need some units to be muted, you can enable the Mute checkbox under the corresponding unit.

After clicking the "Advanced" button in the "Volume Control" window, open the "Properties" dialog box as shown in Figure 7-22. The user can specify how to adjust the volume, with three options: "Replay", "Record" and "Other". If you select the "Replay" radio button, the volume balance is to adjust the volume of the playback system. If you select the Recording radio button, you can use the volume balance to adjust the volume when recording. If you select the "Other" radio button, you can use the volume balance to adjust the volume of the voice input.

The units that appear in the Volume Control window are adjustable, and the selected unit name appears in the Show the following volume controls list box. When the check box corresponding to the unit is enabled, the unit will appear in the “Volume Control” window, otherwise the user cannot adjust the volume and balance of a unit through this window.
