Win 2K: Create faster and better quality 2000

First, Windows 2000 startup optimization

1, use the Msconfig command. The "System Configuration Utility (Msconfig)" under Windows 98 is a very useful tool. It can easily delete or temporarily stop some self-starting programs, but Windows 2000 has abandoned it. You can only modify it by modifying it. It is more troublesome to achieve the goal. In fact, we can completely copy the Msconfig.exe (in the System subdirectory) under the original Windows98 installation directory to the Windows 2000 WinntSystem directory, and then directly run
to let it continue to function.

The program will first pop up an error message box, suggesting that the following system files cannot be found: Config.sys, Autoexec.bat, System.ini, and Win.ini, "Ignore" it, click "OK" "After that you will see the familiar Msconfig program window, you can easily remove some self-starting programs according to your needs! However, if you can't find a friend who uses Windows98 around, you can also download it online. Here is the Msconfig program that is stripped from Windows XP. It can be used in Windows 2000. The download address is: http://download.pchome .net/system/treak/11873.html.

2. Do not perform self-test of the system. First remove the system, implicit and read-only properties of the boot.ini file in the root directory of the C drive, and then open it with Notepad. You can see the following information:

[operating systems]

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)WINNT="Microsoft Windows2000Professional"/fastdetect changes the last "Fastdetect" to "Nodetect". Then, run the registry editor, open the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMControlSet001Control" primary key, change the "SystemStartOptions" key value of the right window to "Nodetect", and change the "WaitToKillServiceTimeout" to reduce the program error. The time to wait for a forced shutdown, the default value is 20000 (string value, about 5 seconds).

3. Remove some record information. Right-click "My Computer", select "Properties", and select the "Startup and Troubleshooting" tab under "Advanced". If only one operating system of Windows2000 is installed, you can remove the "Display Operating System List" check box. If your computer is not itself used as a server, you can completely remove the "Write events to the system log" and "Issued management alarms" options above, and set "Write debug information" to "None".

Through the optimization of these steps, I believe that the startup speed of your Windows 2000 system will definitely increase a lot.
