Vista basic system process file brief description

  
        These processes are the basic conditions for the system to run, and with these processes, the system can operate normally.
smss.exe Session Manager
csrss.exe Subsystem Server Process
winlogon.exe Admin User Login
serviCES.exe Contains Many System Services
lsass.exe Manage IP Security Policy and Start ISAKMP /Oakley (IKE) and IP security drivers. Generate a session key and grant a service ticket for interactive client/server authentication.
svchost.exe contains many system services
SPOOLSV.EXE Loads files into memory for later printing.
explorer.exe Explorer
ctfmon.exe Pinyin icon in tray area
Other processes (these processes are not necessary, you can increase or decrease through the service manager as needed)
mstask. Exe allows the program to run at the specified time.
regsvc.exe allows remote registry operations.
winmgmt.exe provides system management information.
inetinfo.exe provides FTP connection and management through the management unit of Internet Information Services.
tlntsvr.exe allows remote users to log in to the system and run the console program using the command line.
Allows management of web and FTP services through the snap-in of Internet Information Services.
tftpd.exe implements the TFTP Internet standard. This standard does not require a username and password. Part of the remote installation service.
termsrv.exe provides a multi-session environment that allows client devices to access virtual Windows 2000
Professional desktop sessions as well as Windows-based programs running on the server.
dns.exe answers queries and update requests for Domain Name System (DNS) names.
The following services are rarely used, these services are safe and harmful, if not necessary to turn off:
tcpsvcs.exe provides the ability to remotely install Windows 2000 Professional on PXE remote boot client computers.
Support for the following TCP/IP services: Character Generator, Daytime, Discard, Echo, and Quote of the Day.
ismserv.exe allows messages to be sent and received between Windows Advanced Server sites.
ups.exe Manages the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) connected to your computer.
wins.exe Provides the NetBiOS name service for TCP/IP clients who register and resolve NetBIOS-type names.
llssrv.exe License Logging Service
ntfrs.exe Maintains file synchronization of file directory contents across multiple servers.
RsSub.exe controls the media used to store data remotely.
locator.exe manages the RPC name service database.
lserver.exe Register a client license.
dfssvc.exe manages logical volumes distributed across a LAN or WAN.
clipsrv.exe supports the Scrapbook Viewer so that you can view scrapbook pages from a remote scrapbook.
msdtc.exe A side-by-side transaction that is distributed across more than two databases, message queues, file systems, or other transaction protection resource managers.
faxsvc.exe helps you send and receive faxes.
cisvc.exe Indexing Service
dmadmin.exe System Management Service for Disk Management Requests.
mnmsrvc.exe Allows authorized users to remotely access the Windows desktop using NetMeeting.
netdde.exe provides network transport and security features for Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE).
smlogsvc.exe Configure performance logs and alerts.
rsvp.exe provides network signaling and local communication control installation for program and control applications that rely on quality of service (QoS).
RsEng.exe coordinates services and management tools used to store less frequently used data.
RsFsa.exe manages the operation of remotely stored files.
grovel.exe scans duplicate files on a zero-backup storage (SIS) volume and points duplicate files to a data storage point to save disk space.
SCardSvr.exe manages and controls access to smart cards inserted in a computer smart card reader.
snmp.exe contains an agent that monitors the activity of network devices and reports to the network console workstation.
snmptrap.exe receives trap messages generated by local or remote SNMP agents and then passes the messages to the SNMP manager running on this computer.
UtilMan.exe Launches and configures accessibility tools from a window.
msIExec.exe installs, repairs, and removes software based on the commands contained in the .MSI file.
