Can not be underestimated changes Vista system five convenient operations

As a system that Microsoft spent six years developing, XP is not only beautiful in appearance, but also greatly improved in terms of system operation efficiency. People-oriented design concepts can be seen everywhere in Vista. In order to make everyone use Vista more efficiently, today we are introducing the N convenience operation of Vista.
NO1. Directory access is faster
After turning on the computer, the most frequently used operation is probably clicking on the resource manager! Click on the hard disk partition, the first level to find the directory to open the folder and so on. Therefore, resource manager optimization is the most obvious optimization of system operation efficiency. In XP Explorer, the system provides a sidebar with only 4 items such as "My Documents" and "My Computer". At any time, we can open the directory quickly by clicking the item on the sidebar. .
Although the sidebar is easy to use, we can't customize the sidebar project on XP, which brings some trouble to the operation. For example, "F:\\download" is the directory where the author saves the downloaded file. I often open this directory to find the downloaded software.
One step faster: Vista's Explorer replaces XP's sidebar with "Favorite Link", and we can easily customize the project here. If you want to add "F:\\downloads" to "Favorite Link", open the F drive in Explorer and drag the "download" directory to the "Favorites link" on the left. In the future, we can open the above directory in any resource manager window by clicking "download". The addition of other directories is similar (see Figure 1).

Dong Shifu Tip:
Vista's Explorer has also improved the way to open the directory. After opening the directory of multiple paths, you can quickly switch to the front through the address bar drop-down list. Opened directory.
NO2. Anywhere Search
Everyone often forgets the files saved on the computer. To find the forgotten files, you need to use the system search function. If you want to search for files in XP, you need to right-click and start selecting "Search" (or open the Explorer and click the "Search" button). Then open the search window to enter search criteria (such as search characters, location, etc.) and finally click "Search" to find the file you need.
One step faster: Vista integrates search functionality into the start menu and each folder, which greatly improves the efficiency of the search. For example, I am looking for the article "Vista's N Convenient Operations", but I only remember that the article name contains the word "Vista". After clicking Start, just type "Vista" in the search box and the system will quickly find the desired article. Just click on the file in the search results list to open the article (Figure 2).

Dong Shifu Tip:
Open any folder, then enter the searched characters in the search box in the upper right corner, the system can also quickly find the required files. For searches that are not in the default location, Vista will also prompt you to add the search location to the index to speed up the next search.
NO3. Plug-in failures a trick
Netizens know that there are a lot of rogue plug-ins on the Internet, and these plug-ins will be settled on IE when they are online. Some rogue plugins are overbearing, which not only makes IE slower, but also brings various faults. To determine if the IE plugin is causing the failure, in XP to prevent the plugin from loading, after running IE, click "Tools → Manage Add-ons", then select the plugin in the window that opens, click "Disable", set the plugins one by one. To disable.
One step faster: In order to effectively resist the troubles caused by IE plug-ins, Vista provides pure running IE7 components. If you suspect that your IE is having problems installing malicious plugins. Just click "Start → All Programs → System Tools → internet explorer (no add-ons)", so IE7 will not load any plug-ins after startup, it is very convenient for us to determine whether it is a fault caused by the plug-in (Figure 3).

Dong Shifu Tips:
Vista's IE7 also greatly enhances the security of web browsing. By default, the network is accessed as a "standard user" (even if the current account is a system administrator). This can improve the security of the Internet more effectively.
NO4. Common Components Quick Start
We often use system restore, command prompt, registry editor, computer management, event viewer and other components for system maintenance. In XP, these common components are distributed throughout the system. If you want to run these components, we need to know the component name and location to open. For example, you need to start the Event Viewer to view the system run log. We need to open the computer management window, and then expand "Computer Management → System Tools → Event Viewer" to start the component.
One step faster: For the above commonly used components, Vista integrates them into the system configuration utility. Click "Start → Run", enter "msconfig" to start the system configuration utility, click the "Tools" tab, just select "Event Viewer" in the tool list, click "Start" to run this component. We can also select the tool and see the corresponding command line of the component below (Figure 4).

Dong Master Tips:
Components launched in the System Configuration Utility window bypass UAC prompts and enable faster startup.
NO5. Partition size, non-destructive adjustment
When most people buy a computer, the partition of the hard disk is installed by the installer to help us plan. In the future, we often have to adjust the partition. For example, the D disk partition is too large, we have to compress its capacity. In XP, we can transfer all the D disk data to other partitions first. Then click "Start → Run", enter "compmgmt.msc", start the computer management component, expand "Storage → Disk Management". Then select the D drive in the right pane, right-click and select "Delete Logical Drive", click "OK" in the confirmation delete window that pops up, delete the D drive. After the partition is deleted, the space will be displayed in green. Right-click the undivided space and select “New Logical Drive”. The Create Partition Wizard will pop up. Re-divide the partition's capacity as prompted. However, XP is unable to make non-destructive adjustments to the partitions, only by means of third-party software such as PQ.
One step faster: Vista upgrades the disk management component, which can make non-destructive adjustments to the partition. Right-click on the desktop "Computer" and select "Manage". In the open disk management window, expand Computer Management (Local)→Storage→Disk Management. In the right pane, right-click the partition you want to adjust and select “Compress Volume”. In the pop-up dialog box, enter the appropriate value in “Compression Space” to implement the lossless compression partition. If you want to extend the partition, select "Extension" (Figure 5).

Dong Shifu Tip:
Vista compressed volume only supports NTFS format partition, if the partition to be adjusted is FAT32 format, you can run CMD as system administrator, then enter "convert X: /fs:ntfs" (X: is the partition that needs to be converted).
