Is the ZIP decompression system under Vista still WinRAR?

WinRAR, 7-zip is also good, users are always used to install one of them when installed, Xiaobian prefers free and more powerful 7-zip.

Before the Windows system supports the ZIP file format, users are complaining about Microsoft, "and even such popular file formats do not support". When Microsoft started supporting files in ZIP format since Windows Vista, users felt that this function was “all right and wrong”, and some even thought that this function was purely “chicken”.

In Windows7 or Vista system, when the system recognizes the existence of a file with ZIP format, the resource manager will automatically call it, prompting the user to extract the files in the current ZIP package (as shown in the figure). 1).

In this regard, some users think that the ZIP file extraction function built in Windows 7 system is more convenient than WinRARA in operation, so I want to abolish this association.

In the Windows7 or Vista system, run the registry editor, respectively, to the HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /CLSID /branch (Figure 2) and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /CLSID /branch (Figure 3), and then the corresponding The branch item can be deleted.

Exit the Registry Editor and restart it to take effect.

Edit Comment:

Although the above method is simple and straightforward, I do not recommend it. If WinRAR is already installed on your system, you can change the default association program to WinRAR by modifying the way the ZIP file is opened.

Of course, in the examples in this article, you can completely solve the similar settings of software such as 7-zip.
