Solving the problem that VISTA can't use Ruijie client

Many schools need an authentication software to access the Internet in the bedroom. After connecting to the intranet, they can pass the VPN to the external network. Under Windows Vista, these softwares may not work properly. Internet access is not available in Windows Vista. Unfortunately, our school is one of them.

The Internet access in the bedroom needs to be connected to the internal network with Ruijie, and then connected to the external network through VPN. At the beginning, after a long time, the Ruijie client could not get the network card information, and then the network icon prompt message in the lower right corner of Windows Vista was displayed as “unrecognized network”, and then VPN dialing was unavailable.

After a meeting on the Internet, I finally found a solution. Here are the steps:

2. Download the VC7 runtime library

A software to be used later Need to use the VC7 runtime library, but Windows Vista is currently not included by default, all need to be downloaded separately. After downloading the compressed package, extract it and put the file inside it into X:\\Windows\\System32, where X is the drive letter of Windows Vista.

3. Install Ruijie Client

This step is also used in Widnows XP to access the Internet ^_^.

4. Download Mento Supplicant

Because Ruijie does not have a version of Windows Vista, and the registry structure under Windows Vista has changed, Ruijie client can't read the network card information, so it can't Link, and this program is used to solve this problem. After downloading the compressed package, put the extracted files into the Ruijie client root directory.

5. Final Steps

Preparation is complete, modify IP, gateway, sub-process according to normal steps Net Shield and DNS Server. Pay attention when adding routes. Right-click on the batch file and select "Run as administrator". Otherwise, the prompt will be insufficient. Because Ruijie can't get the network card information, use the software in step 4 instead of Ruijie to make the first dialing. Before dialing, you need to remove the "Smart Reconnect" of the "Smart" tab. After connecting with Mento, you can connect to the public network with VPN.

Before connecting to the intranet, you need to turn off the 802.1x authentication of the Ethernet. If there is no wireless network card, there is no "authentication" tab in the NIC property page by default, so you don't need to change this. To determine if 802.1x authentication is turned off, you can open the "Run" dialog box via Win+R, then enter services.msc in it to open the service manager, then find the Wire Autoconfig service and start it, so that you can See the "Authentication" tab in the NIC properties page.
At this point, it has been a perfect solution to the problem of Internet access in the bedroom under Windows Vista, but after playing for an hour, I found that in addition to the card point, it is better to use Windows XP.
