Let Windows XP put on Win Vista "outerwear"

I can't stand the "beauty" temptation of the Windows Vista beta, I also downloaded and installed a newer version. After seeing the beautiful 3D menus in Windows Vista, the personalized desktop and the sidebar, I feel that I can't put it down. However, this beautiful system is also too resource-intensive. The computer I just bought last year has shown a "weak" status in front of it, but I have to switch back to Windows XP. When the sighing fish and the bear's paw can't have both, the inadvertent discovery of several small softwares can make Windows XP “upgrade” to Windows Visat, and almost achieve the degree of “getting my heart”.

First, "window" or 3D cool

Windows Vista provides a Flip 3D function, you can use the "Win+Tab" key combination to switch the open desktop window to stack 3D display mode, you can also display the details of the corresponding running window. This beautiful and practical 3D window is the biggest feature of Windows Vista. How can such awesome feature be let go!

1. 3D task switching of

run Topdesk installation program, set up after the installation path, choosing the default mode of task switching window, you can see "Filp" model which is the imitation of Vista's 3D menu interface. The "spatial" mode is to arrange the windows proportionally by size, and the other "Grid" mode is to arrange the windows proportionally by number. What we want is a 3D window, of course we have to choose the Filp mode (Figure 1).

Figure 1
Click "Next", select the shortcut to switch 3D menu, use the default "ALT+tab" button. If other software in the system is also using this shortcut key, you should first replace the corresponding shortcut key of the software, otherwise there will be conflicts (Figure 2).

Figure 2
Click "Next" again to go to the Select Performance Mode window, which lists a total of 4 modes. It is recommended to choose the default first item, which can achieve the best balance between effects and performance, and finally click "Next" to complete the software installation. Some

finished, the green version of the software may not be realized Filp 3D effect, then you can only use other modes in "performance mode" option, use the software to accommodate the request.

2. Using settings is easy

After the installation is complete, Topdesk will pop up the registration dialog and select “Continue Trial” to hide it in the system tray as an icon. Now, try pressing the "Alt+Tab" key combination. What do you see? Isn't this the dazzling 3D window in Windows Vista (Figure 3)? The beautiful interface can be completely "fake".

Figure 3

If you are not satisfied with the shortcut key or performance mode selection, you can right click on the Topdesk icon in the system tray and select the "Options" command. In the pop-up option settings window, switch to the “User Input” tab, where you can change settings for all windows, unminimized windows, or shortcuts that are currently displayed in the taskbar.

if set too cumbersome, default by pressing the F11 key will hide all the display window directly to the taskbar, which is Windows XP of the "Show Desktop" is the same (Figure 4).

Figure 4

In addition to using shortcut keys, the software also supports setting the mouse hot zone, which can be achieved by clicking directly. Just set it in the "Mouse Hotspor Actions" item under the "User Input" tab. In addition, switching to the “Performance” tab allows you to change the previously set performance mode to facilitate different user requirements for the display.

Under the “Performance” tab, you can also adjust the preview refresh mode. Note that if you select “Real-time sync display” mode, the system will slow down, and the friends with lower configuration will still be Do not choose to be wonderful.

Second, almost perfect Vista theme

There is only one 3D window, it seems that it can not show a strong Windows Vista "taste", may wish to use the Vista Inspirat Shell Pack (hereinafter referred to as Inspirat), Let the system appear from the desktop to the icon perfectly.

1. Software installation is very simple

software installation is very simple, just install the components in the selection, according to actual needs to choose to do a little. After the installation is complete, restart the computer and a brand new Windows Vista interface is born. But don't be happy, by default, the Dock will appear in the center of the desktop directly above, and the icon is relatively large. If there are too many desktop icons, there will be problems of mutual hiding. In this case, adjust the sidebar to the desktop. The relatively free position on the right side.

2. Reasonable settings are more intuitive

Move the mouse to the sidebar, the option icon will be automatically enlarged, and the information of the option will be displayed below. Find and click the “Configure Dock” option to open the Dock settings. window. Under the “Appearance” tab, drag the “Dock Size” slider to change the size of the sidebar. “Magnified Size” is to change the size of the display option icon and adjust it according to the desktop scale (see Figure 5).

Figure 5

For example, after I change the drop-down menu after "Positiln on Screen" to "Right", the sidebar moves to the right side of the desktop. Selecting “Align Top” from the drop-down menu below will place the sidebar on top (see Figure 6). In addition, like Windows Vista, you can increase the transparency of the sidebar by dragging the slider at the "Background" to the left.

Figure 6

If you want to add items to the sidebar, such as the clock display, you can display the clock in the dialog box by clicking the “Clock” option under the “Create” menu. Add (as shown in Figure 7), here are a few nice options that can be added to the sidebar.

Figure 7

The currently running program will automatically appear in the sidebar, which makes it easy to quickly switch tasks.

Third, install the real Vista Sidebar

Although it is possible to simulate the sidebar of Windows Vista by Inspirat, but this is, after all, is simulated, in fact, has been successful from a master The sidebar function has been extracted in Windows Vista. If you like "original" Windows Vista, then try this "real".

1. Basic installation and commissioning

This installation can only hit SP2 patch Simplified Chinese version of Windows XP in normal operation, and the system has to be pre-installed Microsoft.NET.Framework support.

When the installation is complete, run Sidebar, a black and gray piece will appear on the right side of the desktop. At this time, just move the mouse to the "+" sign and click on it to pop up a setting window (Figure 8). It includes various Gadget plugins such as "Web Browsing", "Timer", "Slideshow", "Recycle Bin", "Starter", "World Clock" and so on. If you feel that the plug-ins that come with the program are not rich enough, you can click the "Download more Gadgets" link to get more Gadget plugins.

Figure 8

2. Proper use of plugins

In the settings window, double-click on the plugin you want to use, it will appear in the sidebar, but only four Gadget plugins can be displayed on the screen at the same time. In the default state, the Gadget plugin has no transparent display. If you want it to be “looming”, you can right click on the Gadget plugin and select 20% transparency. This way the sidebar automatically "disappears" when the mouse pointer leaves.
On some Windows XP systems, adding and running the "Initiator" plugin may cause the program to exit with an error. At this time, do not click the "OK" button of the error dialog box, but move the mouse to the "Starter". When an "×" sign closes, click on it to close the "Starter" plugin, then you can make Sidebar. Return to normal use.

4. Let the "slideshow" play automatically

Maybe many friends have added the "slideshow" plugin, but can't play the slideshow. The default path for the plugin to play the slideshow is "My Documents". "Image Collection" folder under "". Since the path change can be made by selecting the "Settings" by right-clicking on the plug-in in Windows Vistas, but it is not available in Windows XP, you can only put the pictures into the default folder to enable the normal playback of the slides.

If you want the perfect experience Sidebar, must install IE7 browser, or display interface "World Clock" and "Web tour" plug-in will be an exception.

here, Windows XP Windows Vista almost had inherited most of the "blood", but still runs like a champ in use Shique, completely out of the high demand for Windows Vista. Do you not want to try this beautiful thing like "two birds with one stone"?
