XP system does not correctly identify the internal modem

Q: I originally installed Windows 98 in the C partition of my computer, and now I have Windows XP installed in the D partition. It can be found that the option of the built-in modem that I installed is not present in the "Device Manager" under Windows XP, and there is a question mark in the "Device Manager" in the "PCI Simple Communication". How can I solve this problem?
A: This phenomenon is generally caused by Windows XP not correctly identifying and installing the Modem driver. Before you install Windows XP, it is best to open the chassis, first pull out the Modem, install the system and then plug the Modem back into the motherboard, so that the system can automatically discover the new hardware and automatically pop up the hardware installation wizard. The driver has been installed successfully. If you are not familiar with the hardware operation, you can also use the following steps: Click “ Start → My Computer & Rarr; Management & Rarr; Computer Management & Rarr; Device Manager & rdquo;, under the "Other devices" Right-click "PCI Simple Communication Controller" and select "Uninstall & Rarr; Scan and Detect Hardware Changes". In the window that appears, in the "What do you want the wizard to do?" option, select “ List or specified location installation (advanced) & rdquo;. Then select "Don't search" in the options under "Please select your search and installation options". I choose the driver to install by yourself, click “Next”, select “Install from disk>, select the directory where the driver is located, and then follow the on-screen instructions.
