Tip: U disk becomes the "key disk" that controls login to XP system

U disk can be said to be very popular today, but if you just use it to store data, it may be a pity. In fact, we can also make U disk play more energy! For example, today Xiaobian teaches you a trick that allows your U disk to replace the password of the login system. Only when you plug in the USB flash drive can you enter the system operation normally, otherwise no operation can enter the system. How is it, is it very interesting to try?

To successfully implement the above functions, we need a small tool called DiskLogon, which is a powerful security setting tool that allows us to log in to the system using mobile devices such as USB flash drives and floppy disks. It is exempt from entering the username and login password; once these devices are removed, the system can be set to automatically lock or shut down. Let's take a look at how to set up a USB flash drive to control the login system.

After completing the software installation, restart as required, then click the “Password” button on the screen to enter the system, and then use the keyboard to enter the password to log in (if you have previously set a password to log in). But we don't want to be so cumbersome every time. Let's set up the USB flash drive to make it more powerful, let it directly control the system login.

Click “DiskLogon Options” in the direct start menu to enter the setting interface, and then perform the following steps in order:

Step1: Execute “Options/DiskLogon/Disks” in sequence, right side of the window By default, all the drive letters are checked, but we only want to use the USB flash drive as the key disk, so only the drive letter of the USB flash drive is selected (for example, the author's L:).

Step2: Click the "Options/DiskLogon/General" branch on the left side of the window. Next, we will set different operations on the right side with a USB flash drive and no USB flash drive.

In the "Disk removal behavior" drop-down list box, select "Lock computer when the disk is removed", so the system will automatically lock when the USB flash drive is removed; if you want to automatically log out after unplugging the USB flash drive , you can choose "Log off when the disk is removed".

2. In the "Log on to Windows" drop-down list box, select "Log on when disk is connected" (automatically log in to the system when a USB flash drive is linked), so that if the USB flash drive is not connected after booting, Cannot enter the system.

3. Select "Unlock computer when the disk is connected" in the "Unlock computer" drop-down list box (automatically unlock the system when connected to the USB flash drive).

Tip: By default, if the system is logged in, if there is no USB flash drive connected, the user can click “Cancel” and enter the user name and password manually to enter the system. However, for added security, remove the "Allow users to type their usename and password to log on or unlock computer" option (allow users to enter their username and password to log in or unlock the system)! As a result, no USB flash drive can be used to log in to the system.

Control System Login Create Login Information

Step3: After completing the above settings, we can make the last step, which is the username and password used to log in to the system to unlock. Click on the "User Accounts" tab, then click on the "Change" button in the "Change Logon information" area to enter the username and password creation interface (Figure 2). Specific steps: In the "Step1" area, select the U disk currently in use in the system, then click on the "Step2" area to select an ID number (such as 01), then "Create New" will be available, click the button, and Enter the username and password in the subsequent pop-up window.

If you want to encrypt the login information with the encryption algorithm, you can check the "Encrypt this Logon information with strong encryption algorithm" option in the dialog box. After the addition is complete, click the "close" button to return to the main window.

Tips: After setting the login user name and password, a file named Logon.dln will be generated in the root directory of the USB flash drive. This file cannot be deleted! Otherwise, even if you plug in the USB flash drive during the next reboot, it will not be able to enter the system because the system cannot read the "fingerprint"!

At this point, all relevant settings have been completed, and now your U disk is already a key disk. In the case that the USB flash drive is not connected, the system cannot be accessed at all; in the middle of the system use, if the USB flash drive is removed, the system will automatically lock up - clicking "Unlock" in the dialog box is also invalid unless the USB flash drive is connected again. In the computer. Currently the software only supports Windows 2000/XP/2003 systems.
