Why can't I install Windows XP in DOS mode

Q: Why do I install Windows XP in DOS mode when I install Windows XP, the system prompts that I can't install it in this mode, but I remember it should be installed?
A: Install Windows XP in DOS mode You can't use the setup command, but instead use the cd \\i386 command to get to the \\i386 subfolder of the system installation CD, then type the winnt.exe command and press Enter to run the installer.
It should be noted that sometimes after this operation, the system will prompt that smartdrv is not loaded and the installation is interrupted. You can run the smartdrv.exe file in the DOS system before proceeding.
