The service that can be disabled in WinXP system is actually a special kind in Win 2000/XP/2003 The application type, but it is running in the background, so we can't see it in the task manager.
After installing Win XP, usually the system will start many services by default, some of which are not used by ordinary users. It not only occupies system resources, but also may be used by hackers.
Viewing the service items being enabled
Take Win XP as an example. First, you should use the system administrator account or log in as a user with Administrator privileges, and then enter “cmd.exe” in “Run” Open a command line window, and then enter “net start” After the carriage return, it will display the service that the system is running.
In order to view the information of each service in more detail, we can start → control panel in “ →Management Tools” Double-click "Services" or enter "Services.msc" in "Run" to open the service settings window
Close, disable and re-enable services
Three types of startup:
1. Automatic: If some useless services are set to automatic, it will start with the randomizer, which will extend the system startup time. Services that are usually closely related to the system must be set to automatic.
2. Manual: It will only be activated when it is needed.
3. Disabled: Indicates that this service will no longer be started, even if it is needed, it will not be started unless it is modified to the above two types.
If we want to close a running service, just select it and select “stop” from the context menu. But it may also run automatically or manually the next time you start the machine.
If the service is really useless, you can choose to ban the service. Select “Properties” from the context menu and select "Allow" in the "General →Startup Type" list. This service will be completely disabled.
If you need to restart it later, just select "Automatic" or "Manual" here; you can also start it by command line "net start ? service name?", for example, "net" Start Clipbook”.
