Solutions for fonts that cannot be installed under Windows XP

I used to be unable to install fonts under XP. I found this article on the Internet. I can use this method to install it correctly. I hope to share it here.

Under the xp system, many friends may have encountered such a situation: when installing fonts and copying fonts to C:WINDOWSFonts, there should be no pop-ups; install new fonts&rdquo ; Tips, and even the fonts copied into the folder can not be used, there is no "Install new fonts" option in the file menu under C:WINDOWSFonts.

The author unfortunately encountered such a situation some time ago, the first reaction is google and baidu. However, the search results are either a 98 system solution or a reinstallation system. The latter is obviously too much trouble. The desktop.ini file under the 98 system mentioned by the former is not found under the font folder of the xp system. For a while, I can't think of it. When I was preparing to reinstall the system, I finally found the ultimate solution:

Create a new file under the C:WINDOWSFonts folder. Ini”, open with Notepad, enter the following (without quotes): <;[.ShellClassInfo]

UICLSID= ”, after saving, will be <;desktop.ini” The file attribute is changed to read-only and hidden. This problem is solved perfectly.

Principle: C:WINDOWSFonts under xp system is a special folder. Even if all the files are selected in the tool-folder option, the configuration file below this folder will be displayed. ;desktop.ini” still can't be displayed. The open method can only be displayed by entering C:WINDOWSFontsdesktop.ini in the address bar. So when dealing with the problem, I did not expect this configuration file to be lost. Many friends often search all desktops.ini and then delete them when optimizing the system. Therefore, deleting the file by mistake can cause the font to be unable to be installed.

Although the final solution to the problem is very simple, it is quite hard to think about starting from this direction. Just like the first story of setting up an egg. I hope this article can help some friends who have encountered this problem.
