If the user is not satisfied with the default settings of IE browser, they can also change their settings to make them more in line with the user's personal usage habits.
10.5.1 Changing the Default Home Page When Starting the E Browser
While launching the IE browser, IE browser will automatically open its default home page, usually the home page of Microsoft Corporation. In fact, users can also set up other web pages when launching IE browser. For details, please refer to the following steps:
(1) Start IE browser. (2) Open the web page you want to set as the default home page. (3) Select the “Tools” button, open the “Internet Options” dialog box, and select the “General” tab, as shown in Figure 10.36.

(4) in the & ldquo; home & rdquo; option group, click & ldquo; Use Current & rdquo; button, can be opened when starting IE browser's default home page for the currently open Web pages; if Click the “Use default page” button to open the default home page when launching IE browser; if you click the “Use blank page” button, you can not open any web page when launching IE browser.
Note: Users can also directly enter the address of a Web site in the “Address” text box and set it as the default home page.
10.5.2 Setting the save time of the history
In the IE browser, the user can click the “history> button on the toolbar to view the records of all the websites that have been viewed, and the history of the long-term history. There will be more and more. At this time, the user can set the history save time in the “Internet Options” dialog box, so that the system will automatically clear the history of this period of time after a period of time.
To set the history save time, you can perform the following steps:
(1) Start the IE browser. (2) Select the “Tools” "∣"Internet Options" command to open the “Internet Options" dialog box. (3) Select the “General” tab. (4) In the “History” column of the “History” column, enter the number of days to save the history in the text box. (5) Click the “Clear History” button to clear the existing history. (6) After setting, click the “Apply” and ““” button.
10.5.3 Making Internet Security Settings
The security of the Internet is not unfamiliar to many people, but there are not many people who really understand it and pay enough attention. In fact, in the IE browser, it provides the security settings for the Internet. Users can use it to perform some basic security settings on the Internet. The specific operations are as follows:
(1) Start the IE browser. (2) Select the “Tools” "∣"Internet Options" command to open the “Internet Options" dialog box. (3) Select the “Security” tab, as shown in Figure 10.37.

(4) the level of security at the user can tab for the Internet zone, Local Intranet (intranet), the site and restricted sites by the trust settings. (5) If the user wants to set the security level for the Internet zone and the local intranet (intranet), you can select the security icon for the web content of different zones. (6) Click the “Default Level" button in the "Security Level" option group in the area and drag the slider to adjust the default security level.
Note: If the security level adjusted by the user is less than its default level, the “Warning” dialog box will pop up, as shown in Figure 10.38.

In the dialog box, if the user really want to reduce the security level, click & ldquo; a & rdquo; button.
(7) If the user wants to customize the security level, click the “Custom Level" button in the "Security Level" option group of the area, and the “Security Settings“ dialog box will pop up. As shown in Figure 10.39.

(8) in the dialog box & ldquo; set & rdquo; list box, the user can set the options. In the “Reset Customizations> option group, select the security level in the “Set as “ drop-down list and click the “Reset” button to change to the reset security level. The “Warning” dialog box will pop up, as shown in Figure 10.40.

(9) If the user is determined to change the security settings for this zone, click & ldquo; a & rdquo; button.
