The so-called system directory refers to the directory where the main files of the operating system are stored. The files in the directory directly affect whether the system works normally. Unless otherwise specified, the directories described below are in the Win9x/ME system, they are in the Windows directory, under the Win2000 system, they are in the Winnt directory. All Users folder: "Win9x/ME" all user folders, which include the contents of the desktop file and the start menu when the system is logged in by default. "Win2000" does not have this folder in the Win2000 system directory. Win2000 puts the user's information in the Documents and Settings folder in the root directory. Important files in the system are placed in this directory, and files are also copied to this directory when new software is installed. Since many files are common to multiple softwares, it is best to choose not to delete the files in this directory when deleting the software. System32 folder: "Win9x/ME/2000" 32-bit system folder containing many virtual device files. It is also very important to pay special attention to the deletion of the files inside. Tasks folder: "Win9x/ME/2000" Scheduled Tasks folder, which contains scheduled Windows tasks. Windows will run these tasks at the specified time. Temp folder: "Win9x/ME/2000" temporary file directory. A lot of temporary files are generated during the running of the system and software, and are stored in this directory. Regularly cleaning up files in this directory can reduce the garbage on your hard drive. Temporary Internet Files folder: "Win9x/ME" IE download file buffer. When using IE browser to browse the webpage, the system will automatically put the content of the browsed webpage in this directory. When you open the same webpage again, the system will extract it from this directory, which can speed up the browsing. Each user of "Win2000" has a Temporary Internet Files folder located in the Local Settings directory in each user directory of the Documents and Settings folder. Web Folder: "Win9x/ME/2000" The files in this folder are mainly hypertext templates, channel icons and images, and so on. The layout of some windows in the Windows system is also done through the files inside. I didn't think this directory was important before. Later I found that Happy Hour Virus was the purpose of destroying the files in this directory. Since the files in the system directory are important, be careful when making changes.
