Win XP installation of Win 2000 dual system startup problem

Many friends' computers are installed with Windows XP first, because they need to install Windows 2000. After booting, Windows XP cannot enter the login screen.

This is because Windows XP system files are replaced when Windows 2000 is installed, which causes Windows XP to be unrecognizable. Although there are many solutions, but too much trouble, not using DOS commands, is to use the Windows boot disk, the repair is successful, but the system boot selection menu has become English, and now introduce a simple method, I believe that you can try again Just a moment.

1. Copy the Windows XP system files before installing Windows 2000. Open the C drive and select the "View" tab in the "Tools"->"Folder Options" on the menu, and remove "Hide Protected Operating System in "Advanced Options" File (recommended) " an option, then click "Show all files and folders" to confirm exit. At this time, you will see some hidden system files in the root directory of the C drive, copy the "ntldr", " NTDETECT.COM", "bootfont.bin" three files to other places. 2. Now start installing Windows 2000, of course, you can't install it in the same partition as Windows XP. After the installation, in the Windows 2000 system, use the method of step 1 to display all the system files, and then copy the three files just saved, overwrite the system files in the root directory of the C drive. Now restart the system and your Windows XP will start up normally. If you haven't copied these three files before installing Windows 2000, it doesn't matter. It works fine on other machines of the same version. 3. After the operating system is installed, remember to hide the operating system files with the opposite option in the first step (Windows 2000 and Windows XP do it all). Otherwise the system files are easily destroyed, such as viruses, defragmentation, etc., when you cry, it is useless. Open the C drive, select the "View" tab in the "Tools"->"Folder Options" menu, and select "Hide Protected Operating Systems in "Advanced Options" File (recommended) " one, then click "Do not show hidden files and folders", make sure to quit. 4. Some friends introduced that when installing Windows 2000 under Windows XP, they only talked about copying the first two files, so that the unified boot selection menu became English. The main reason is that there is no copy of the "bootfont.bin" file.
