Solve LCD compatibility failure under Vista

Many mainstream LCD monitors have passed Vista certification, but many early LCD monitors have compatibility problems. The author is ViewSonic LCD monitor in Windows XP. The use is normal, but after upgrading the Vista system, there is a slight flicker on the edge of the screen. I still return to the factory mode by adjusting the setup menu. Although it does not affect the normal use, it always seems uncomfortable.

After careful inspection, it was found that under the display attribute "Monitor Settings", the screen refresh rate is up to 59Hz, and it is not adjustable, but the standard refresh rate of the LCD monitor is 60Hz, initially thought Is the graphics card driver problem, the author upgraded the Vista version of the graphics card driver is also true. The author enters "Device Manager" to view, the system recognizes the display as "Plug and Play Monitor", the author has downloaded the monitor driver from the official website of the ViewSonic. After installation, Vista can recognize the monitor model normally, and the screen refresh frequency Also shown as 60Hz (Figure 1), the screen display is not normal fault is also resolved.

Installing the driver for the LCD display not only solves some compatibility problems, but also for LCD monitors with special functions, although the driver is not installed, it will not affect the normal display, but some Additional functions cannot be used. For example, many LCD monitors have a built-in USB interface, which can read data from a USB device or output images through a USB interface. However, the monitor driver must be installed to use it, because the interface program needs to be driven and matched with the Vista system. After the display driver is installed, the corresponding setting function is also provided in the display setting panel.

For some older LCD monitors or miscellaneous LCD monitors, when users encounter similar faults and can't find the monitor driver, then they will not use the Vista system. In fact, there are still some solutions. For example, use the Refreshforce tool (download address: http://www.shudoo.com/bzsoft) to customize the screen refresh rate, click the “Add Mode” button after running the software, and then set the “Freguency” refresh rate to 60 or Higher (Fig. 2), and set the display resolution (X is the width, Y is the height), click the "Apply" button to take effect, but this is only valid for the game and software running window, can not solve the LCD screen flashing malfunction.
