If you frequently open multiple applications while using your computer, you should cherish the space on the taskbar. However, no matter how much you browse the web or use office software, it is inevitable to open multiple windows, which will make the Windows XP taskbar full. Now, Windows XP's grouping taskbar function can put the same or similar programs in a group, so that users can select multiple program windows by clicking a window icon. By default, Windows XP will put the first open program in front. However, by adjusting the registry project, we can also optimize this combination.

Run the registry editor, expand the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\SOFTWARE\\MICROSOFT\\Windows\\CURRENTVERSION\\EXPLORER\\ADVANCED] branch, click the "Edit → New → DWORD Value" command on the menu bar, the DWORD Name the value "TaskbarGroupSize", then double-click and change the DWord key:

0 - Windows XP will put the oldest open program in front.

1 - Windows XP will program the largest top surface.

2 - Windows XP will two or more windows of the same program consisting of a set.

3 - the same program window of Windows XP will form a group of three or more.

After setting up according to your own needs, close the Registry Editor and restart your computer, the taskbar will be rearranged and grouped according to your requirements.
