Stylexp theme skinning tool using tips

For Windows XP theme skinning tool StyleXP, I believe many people have used it, we can download the ready-made theme, but after the change, sometimes the satisfaction of the taskbar style inside, the folder background and color settings, But not necessarily like it. If you want to use the complex BUILER tool to edit and modify, it is more troublesome. In fact, there is a very simple way to change the theme.

First, the theme file

In general, the StyleXP theme set button, taskbar settings file, is placed separately from the folder background. The file corresponding to the button is generally a *.mss file, and the background and color of the folder are in Shellstyle.dll in the NormalColor subdirectory of the shell folder. Each time you apply a theme, you first read the *.mss file and then load Shellstyle.dll. In this way, as long as we copy the appropriate Shellstyle.dll and replace it with the specified theme folder, we can replace the colors and backgrounds that you didn't like.

Second, set the appropriate icon size

Each theme kit, may have its own special letters, font settings. Sometimes the characters will appear too small. In addition to the desktop icons, the settings in the theme are actually related to the characters in the folder. In the high-resolution display, the menus and file lists will appear small. This is because in the default state, the icons use the 8th word, and the English letters of the same number are smaller than the Chinese. You can select the size of the icon in the <;Properties & Rarr; Appearance & Rarr; Advanced” and set the size to 9th. Sometimes the text in the "selected items" can be slightly larger, and the eyes look less difficult.

Third, save other visual settings

In addition to changing the view style of the folder and taskbar, the theme file also has its own icon and mouse pointer, an inattention, the original settings A good mouse pointer has been changed beyond recognition. If you only want to change the taskbar and folder style, it is recommended to save the current theme before loading a new theme to protect the settings of the mouse, system icons, etc.

In addition, please close the IE window and the open notepad first, because when you switch the view style, the size of the window will change slightly, usually it will narrow a circle instead of full screen. The windows of Windows XP have a memory effect. It is useless to maximize your click. The new window that pops up next time will still be the same. You must manually open the window to all sides, and Windows XP will remember this state again. If you don't want to be in trouble, then it's best to close the window and switch the theme.
