Several ways to install Linux

First, the hard disk installation is divided into two situations:
A, is to install B from the Win system, is to boot from other Linux installation here to introduce the Windows system installation used by most people, the second method I have not adjusted < Br> 1, the installation system --- RedHat 9.0, (Fedra core 1 and 2 similar, I installed FC3test3 when found that the hard disk MBR destroyed, and there is no way to restore with the repair tool.) My PC 40G hard drive, the main The partition has only one 10GFAT32 format, and the extended partition is 30G, of which 20G is used for WINDOWS in FAT32 format and 10G is given in LinuxEX3 format. I installed the XP system on the C drive, downloaded the 3 ISOs of RedHat9.0, and put it in the root directory of the D drive Red Hat Linux_i1.iso, Red Hat Linux_i2.iso, Red Hat Linux_i3.iso. 2. Use the CD to take the tool Daemon -v3.47 Extract the Dosutils directory in the first image to the root directory of the D drive to see if there are any of these main files: LOADLIN.EXE AUTOBOOT\\INITRD.IMG AUTOBOOT\\VMLINUZ Generally, it is relatively complete, and you don't need to modify autoboot. The .bat file is gone.

3, making a U disk boot disk, the work I did for a day, my U disk is a general no-name 128M, without starter. On the Internet DOWN USBBoot.1.62U disk boot production tool is useless, with Netac's U disk tool is also not. So I started doing it myself. After experimenting, I found a good way to format the U disk in FAT16 or FAT32 (recommended FAT32), then use FDISK /mbr to clean up the boot partition, and use the WIN98 SYS command to transfer the system on the colleague machine. The file is transferred to the USB flash drive, and the USB flash drive can be booted.
4, restart the system into the BIOS, set the boot to USB-FDD, enter DOS and then run the autoboot.bat under the dosutils directory on the D drive. 5. Select boot/disk/hda5 from the hard disk when booting ---- - My D drive system will automatically find all the files.
Second, use NFS to install
1, find a Linux /Unix system machine installed, install NFS service, go to the rpmfind website to find the appropriate package, my is nfs-utils-1.0.1-2.9 package.
rpm -ivh nfs-utils-1.0.1-2.9.i386.rpm rpm -ivh portmap-4.0-54.i386.rpm 2. Modify the configuration file: /etc/exports Add the following line: Code: /home/Chenzq/redhat/192.168.1.0/24(ro,sync) Remarks: /home/chenzq/redhat/-------- My iso disc image location 192.168.1.0/24 ------- ------ set 192.168.1 network segment machine can access ro --------------- read-only sync -------------- accept Data write data at the same time
The installation process is the same as the hard disk installation, just select "NFS image", and then ask me to enter the NFS server IP, enter the server name or IP ----192.168.1.75 RedHat directory---- ----- /home/chenzq/redhat This system automatically finds the image installation.
This is an installation method I recommend, as long as the bandwidth is enough, the installation on the Internet is faster, and compared to the following HTTP and FTP installation methods, the error is less fast, or the graphical interface installation, HTTP and FTP are both Is a character mode installation, and to unpack, you can not directly use the ISO image.
Third, use HTTP to install
1, note: the previous points are the same as the hard disk installation, but the difference is that you can not read the ISO file, you must first extract, the first disk ISO file is first mounted to a In the directory /mnt/cdrom, during the installation process, prompt to change the disk and then mount another CD
2, then create an HTTP virtual directory on the server, modify the /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf file to add the following line : Code: Alias /redhat "/mnt/cdrom" Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews AllowOverride None Order Allow, deny Allow from all Save the service service httpd restart 3 after saving and specify the directory I just http://192.168.1.75/redhat installation time & ldquo; HTTP settings & rdquo;: Website name: 192.168.1.75 Red Hat directory: /redhat It will automatically find the directory and install, note that I installed several packages in this way Will be broken, can not skip the installation, and my ISO check MD5SUM is good, the package name seems to be OpenOffice 86M size, XMMS package also does not remember a few, so it is not recommended to select these packages during installation And there is this text installation can not be installed graphically.
Fourth, FTP mode installation
The way is almost the same as HTTP, is to change APACHE to vsftp experience: installed a week of Linux, my version includes RedHat9, Fedora core 1, 2 and 3 test3, also There is MagicLinux1.2beta. I started to install FC3test3 with hard disk. As a result, FC3 is installed, but XP no matter how fdisk /mbr still uses XP CD to start fixmbr, fixboot and overwrite installation, there is no way to start XP, so I have to use Ghost to re I have been there, FC2 and FC1 are still normal. When I use MagicLinux, I can't find the hard disk when I install the hard disk. I have not tried other methods. I hope to help the brothers who installed the system!
