Forgot your password solution under liunx

  

1. When Liunx just started rebooting. Here we press the “e” key to enter the Grub configuration before the system is started. (Note: generally need to install e key twice) (If your system boot program is LILO, similar to Grub, please refer to the prompt given by LILO)

2. Then we choose The middle one: "kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20-8 ro root=LABEL=/rhgb quiet” Press the <;e” key to enter the editor.

3. Enter “space+single” after “LABEL=/rhgb quiet” and press Enter. Space must remember to lose!

4. Then select the middle item: "kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.20-8 ro root=LABEL=/rhgb quiet single”, press the “b” key to start the single-user mode system.

5. If there is a prompt like "ld-;sh-2.05b#" in front of your system, congratulations, you have successfully entered Single user mode.

6. Enter “passwd root” after “sh-2.05b#” and press Enter. An exciting new password interface has appeared.


7. After entering the new password and determining it again, your root user's password has been successfully changed.

8. Then enter the “reboot” command to restart the system. You can use the new password to use the root account the next time you log in.
