How to install Microsoft IIS5.1 installation file

First enter "c:\\Windows\\inf\\sysoc.inf" in "Run" of the "Start" menu, the system will automatically open the sysoc.inf file using Notepad. Find the "[Components]" section in sysoc.inf, because it is a simplified version of XP, so there are very few things inside, add this paragraph: "iis=iis2.dll, OcEntry, iis2.inf,,7". Then save and close.

Because it is a simplified version of XP, there must be no IIS installation files in the downloaded installation files. You can click to download the IIS installation file from this site. After downloading, extract it to the root directory of any drive letter (preferably the root directory for easy command). For example, I extracted the zip file to the root directory of the D drive.

Next, enter "CMD" in the run and press Enter to open the command line mode. Enter the following two commands at the command line and press Enter after each line command (assuming the CD drive is D drive) ):

EXPand d:\\iis51\\iis.dl_ c:\\Windows\\system32\\setup\\iis2.dll

EXPand d:\\iis51\\iis.in_ c:\\Windows\\inf \\iis2.inf

Note that if you unzip the F drive, you can change the above D to F. Others are the same. At this time, you open the Control Panel -> Add /Remove Windows components, you will find that the Internet Information Services (IIS) installation options have appeared in the installation list.

After the event, it is the same as installing IIS. However, the file cannot be found during the installation process (this is normal, because your IIS installation directory is not in XP default. Under the directory). At this time, you can browse the list and select the directory you just unzipped. This will let you choose to install the file three times. Each time you follow the steps mentioned above.

No accident, after a while, IIS is installed, click "Finish". But this step is not finished. Need to make some settings for IIS: Open "Internet Service Manager" from the management tool

Then click the "Default WEB Site" right button, go to the "Directory Security" tab, click "Anonymous Access and Authentication" Control the "Edit" button, pop up the new window of the anonymous method, click on the "Edit" button in "Anonymous Access", and "Allow IIS to control the password" to be completely removed, and then all the way to return can be. At this point, XP's simplified version of the steps to install IIS5.1 is completed.
