Ok, let's take a look at the specific cloning process by installing Realplayer as an example. Here we select the "Uninstall Manager" system snapshot tool and the "RegSnap" registry snapshot to complete the software cloning process.

First, create a new snapshot

Before installing the Realplayer program, we first need to scan the system partition and registry files.

1. Take a snapshot of the system

Start the "Uninstall Manager", select the system partition C in the monitor bar of the main interface of the program, and then click the "New Snapshot" button on the toolbar, the program starts to take a snapshot of the system partition ( figure 2).

2. Taking a snapshot of the registry

Before installing the Realplayer program, we also need to take a snapshot of the registry. It is recommended to use the RegSnap registry snapshot program. Start RegSnap, a "Startup Wizard" interface pops up, click the "New Snapshot" button, click the "Generate Only Snapshot Snapshot" option in the "Save Snapshot" dialog box that pops up (Figure 3), and then click The "OK" button, the program begins to scan this registry and make a snapshot.

Second, the monitoring software installation

After the new snapshot is completed, we can start the Realplayer installer to install Realplayer. When installing, try to install the program to other partitions other than the system partition, such as D, E partition, so that we can find the DLL link file required by the program. After installation, we can set the program according to our own needs, such as the format that supports playback, the folder where music is played by default, etc. The specific setting process will not be described here.

After setting, we also need to use the "Uninstall Manager" program to monitor the system, switch to the "Uninstall Manager" program interface, click "Find New File" in the toolbar, the program starts to find since the last time. A file or folder in a drive that has been added after the snapshot. The files found will then be displayed in the main interface of the program (Figure 4), where we only need to view the DLL file. Others such as LNK files, TMP files, PF files are some shortcuts, temporary files or help files for the installer. At this point we can find several DLL dynamic link files in the C:WindowsSystem32 folder of the C partition system folder. These files are the programs that Realplayer needs to run. After viewing, click the “File → Export File As” command on the main interface of the program to export the search record to Notepad for later viewing.

Switch to the RegSnap snapshot tool, click the "New" button in the toolbar to create a new registry snapshot, then click the "File → Compare" button, so the program is two before the installer and after the installer A snapshot is compared (Figure 5), and it's easy to find what's changed in the registry.

Figure 5

After comparing, click “File→Export” to export the registry changes, and the export format is reg file.

Third, the migration installation file

Through the above operation, we found Realplayer all the files and registry keys, then the installation program can migrate to other partitions or other computer It is. First, we copy the Realplayer installation directory to other partitions, and then copy the found DLL link files to the corresponding folders of other computers, such as the C:WindowsSystem32 folder, so that the installation files of the program are successfully migrated.

Then copy the exported reg registry file to other computers, double-click the registry file to import the Realplayer registry key into the registry, and the migration task is completed.

Tip: If you are migrating the program files to other computers, then we should ensure that the operating systems of the two computers are the same version, otherwise the registry key values cannot be imported.

We can run the Realplayer program on other computers in the future.

For the computer after reinstalling the system, you can use the original program by adding the backup DLL file and reg file when using these software, eliminating the cumbersome installation process.
