In AutoCAD 2007, graphic file management includes operations such as creating new graphic files, opening existing graphic files, closing graphic files, and saving graphic files.

1. Create a new graphic file selection

“File”| “New”Command (NEW), or click the “New” button in the "Standard> toolbar to create a new graphic file, which will open the “Select Template” dialog.

2, open the graphic file selection

“file”| “Open the ” command (OPEN), or click the "Open" button in the "Standard" toolbar to open the existing graphic file, this will open the "Select File" dialog box. Select the graphic file you want to open, and the preview image of the graphic will be displayed in the “Preview” box on the right. By default, open graphics files have the format .dwg.

3, save the graphics file

In AutoCAD, you can use a variety of ways to save the drawing shape as a file to disk. For example, you can select “file”| “Save” command (QSAVE), or click the “Save” button in the “Standard” toolbar to save the graphic with the file name currently used; you can also select “File”| “Save as "SAVEAS, save the current drawing with a new name.

When you save the created drawing for the first time, the system will open the "Save As" dialog box. By default, files are saved in the “AutoCAD 2004 Graphics (*.dwg)” format, or you can select other formats, such as AutoCAD 2000/LT2000 graphics (*.dwg), in the “File Types” drop-down list box. Formats such as AutoCAD Graphics Standards (*.dws).

4, close the graphic file

select “file”| “ Turn off the ” command (CLOSE), or click the “Close" button in the drawing window to close the current drawing file. If the current drawing is not saved, the system will pop up an AutoCAD warning dialog asking if you want to save the file. At this point, click the “Y” button or press the Enter button to save the current graphic file and close it; click the “N” button to close the current graphic file without saving. Click the “Cancel” button to cancel the operation of closing the current graphic file, ie without saving or closing.
