Foxmail eleven classic skills

Foxmail as an excellent e-mail client software, with its small size, powerful features and other characteristics by the majority of readers, the following worms will introduce you to some network flying Fox Foxmail 4.1 The eleven strokes of classic skills, let you manipulate Foxmail in the future.

The first trick: speed up Foxmail startup speed

When Foxmail is running, a splash screen (also called splash screen) will appear. We can add "-nosplash" parameter to the command line. It is forbidden to run this screen. Right-click the Foxmail shortcut icon in the Quick Launch bar or Start menu, select "Properties", and enter "C:Program FilesFoxmailFoxmail.exe" -nosplash in the target field of the "Shortcuts" tab, so that Foxmail starts up. It’s much faster.

2nd trick: Receive Hotmail Mail

You can easily receive emails from your Hotmail mailbox using Foxmail 4.1. Foxmail receives Hotmail mail by combining its own gadget Foxmail-Hotmail Proxy. Fill in a Hotmail email address in the New Account Wizard, so that the “POP3 Server” column will be filled in “localhost” in the next step. After the account is created, open the Account Properties dialog box and select “Mail Server” to confirm the dialog box. The "Hotmail Account" checkbox is in the selected state (Figure 1).

Foxmail4.1 can't support sending emails via Hotmail. If the "Smtp Server" column in the Hotmail account properties is not filled, the account can only use the Speedpost feature to send emails.

3 strokes: Changing the mail store location

If Foxmail only configure an account, you can copy the file folder account corresponding to the location to save, and then delete the directory under Foxmail "accounts.cfg" (not Account.stg), so when you restart Foxmail, you will think that you are running for the first time. In the "Wizard" dialog box that appears, select the folder you just backed up as the save path of the mailbox. If there are multiple accounts, you can remove the "Account.stg" in the corresponding directory of the backup account, and then create a new account and specify the save path of the mailbox.

4th trick: Get the email account password

If you set a password in your account and accidentally forget it, you can use the following method to clear it: first, the account will be forgotten. Folders, such as C:\\Program FilesFoxmailmail<username>, are moved to other places, start Foxmail, and ignore the two error prompts. After opening the main interface, move the removed folder back to the mail directory, then select “Access Password” in the shortcut menu of the account (may become English “access password”), click “OK” "Overwrite the original password with a blank password and start Foxmail again."

If there is another newly created mailbox, you can rename the two files (*.idx, *.box) corresponding to the mailbox with the intrinsic mailbox, such as replacing Aaaaa1.box with in. Box (inbox). Of course, you can also delete the "Account.stg" in the account folder directly, and then re-fill the account configuration.

5th trick: delete attachments in the receipt

Since Foxmail does not allow the attachments in the collection to be deleted separately, when we need to keep the emails with attachments, we have to attach the attachments together. Retention, this not only reduces the efficiency of Foxmail execution, but also wastes hard disk space. Is there no way to delete attachments? Of course not, we can double-click to open this email, click "Forward" in the toolbar, select the attachment, and delete it from the right mouse button menu or directly press the "Del" button.

6th trick: mass mailing and secret mailing

There are two ways to send mail in bulk. One is to type in the "To" and "Cc" fields of the mail. Multiple email addresses, each separated by a comma, or after entering an email address, press the Enter key. Another option is to combine multiple addresses into a single mail group using the Create Group feature in the address book and then send a message to the group.

Foxmail also provides the function of secret mail, but it is not displayed by default. You can select "Mail Header" → "Browse Address" in the "View" menu, or write a message. Clicking the words “To” or “Cc” in the window will pop up a “Select Address” dialog box to select the address to be sent (as shown in Figure 2).

7 strokes: Preview Mail background music

Foxmail4.1 provides insert background music in the mail function, you need only when you compose Html formatted messages, click the Mail Format The "Insert Background Music" button in the toolbar, then select a music file in the mid format. If you want to preview the effect before sending it, you can save the message to the Outbox and then select the hypertext mode (magnifying glass icon) to preview the message and enjoy the inserted music.

The 8th trick: print Html mail and preview

Foxmail4.1 adds Html mail print and print preview function, when displaying the mail content in Html format, click on the "File" menu Print Preview automatically pops up the print preview window. If it is a message with an attachment, the print will also contain the file name information of the attachment. One thing to remind readers is that if IE6.0 and Foxmail are installed in the system, IE's Html file print preview window will be called instead of using Foxmail's own print preview window for previewing.

9th trick: tips for scrolling bars

The new mail scrolling prompt bar scrolls through the information of unread emails in each account mailbox by means of a marquee. It is very convenient for us. Open the message you want to read. In fact, there are some very elaborate designs in the new mail scrolling prompt bar: if you move the mouse to the right inner side of the scroll box, the prompt information will scroll backwards. If you move to the left inner side of the scroll box, you can let the prompt message Speed up scrolling.

10th trick: Protecting the secrets of emails

Since Foxmail erases or deletes emails in the trash, it just puts a delete mark on each email and does not actually delete it. So we can also recover it. Select "Trash", click "Properties" in the right-click menu, select the "Tools" tab, click "Start Repair", Foxmail will automatically restore the mail back. For the above reasons, it is recommended that after emptying the inbox, you must also use the "mailbox" → "compress" command to prevent others from easily recovering the mail (Figure 3).

11 strokes: to trace the anonymous e-mail address

To find out the sender's address from the IP address of the mail, but also need to use a special software to "hunt." After selecting the mail, click “Mail” → “Original Information”, you can view the sender's IP address from the header of the email, copy and paste it into the “Hunting” IP address box, so that we can Find the geographic location of this IP from the hunt database.
