Solve the mystery of FlashGet automatic download

Many friends like to use FlashGet to download some large files from the Internet. When FlashGet is installed in the system, each time you click the corresponding download link in IE browser, FlashGet will make its own claim. In fact, when downloading small files like some pictures, IE's own download function is actually quite good. But FlashGet still pops up as always, why does FlashGet know that you want to download the file? Is there any way to cancel this function of FlashGet?

I. FlashGet autorun mystery

When you install FlashGet, a dynamic link library file named "jccatch.dll" will be generated in the FlashGet installation directory. This file will be launched along with your IE. Run, its role is to monitor IE in time to download files, once it is monitored to IE to download files, it will automatically start FlashGet.

II. Cleverly cancel the "automatic operation" of FlashGet

After knowing the principle, we can easily solve it. If you say that you don't want FlashGet to automatically monitor IE in the future, you can directly delete the file named "jccatch.dll" in the FlashGet installation directory. However, I suggest that you solve the problem properly by suspending the plugin, so that the next time you want to restore the monitoring function of FlashGet, just re-allow the plugin to run.

According to the author's experience, it is convenient to use the "plug-in management expert" to deal with IE plug-ins. First, click here to download and install the plug-management experts, run after the installation is complete, select the "plug-in clean up" item in the main window, then select "browser helper" tab, shown in Figure 1:

In the window shown in Figure 1, select the "FlashGet monitor webpage click plug-in" item, and then click the "pause this plug-in function" button in the right window. After this setting, FlashGet will no longer automatically monitor the download link of the web page. And when you want to restore the automatic monitoring function of FlashGet, just follow the above steps to restore the function of the plugin.
