                     Domain Name Resolution

Domain name resolution of URLs can achieve fast access to websites, so we can use Windows Optimizer's "Domain Name Resolution" function to convert URLs and IP addresses.

Click "System Performance Optimization /Network System Optimization", click the "Domain Name Resolution" button on the right interface, and the "Domain Name Resolution Optimization Window" will pop up. In the "Common URLs" tab, we can see all the URLs in the IE browser favorites, select the URL you want to perform domain name resolution, click the "Resolve" button to start parsing the selected domain name (Figure 1) .

Of course, if you want to temporarily add a URL that is not in your favorites, you can click the "Add" button and enter the website name and URL in the pop-up window. Another thing to note is that you must ensure that the machine is online when parsing, because the optimization guru needs to access the domain name resolution server on the Internet.

Custom Settings

Windows Optimizer provides a module called "Custom Settings" to help users manage registry settings and let users create their own "registry" Application Daquan." Start Windows Optimizer, select "System Performance Optimization/Custom Settings" in the left navigation bar in the main interface (Figure 2), the skill group is displayed in the upper list box on the right, and the lower list box is displayed. The display technique included in the current skill group is displayed. In the following, the author introduces the use of "Prohibit changes to IE home page settings" as an example:

Step 1: Click the "Add" button to bring up the "Custom Settings" In the Properties window. Fill in the name of the setting item in the "Description" item. In this example, you can fill in the "Prohibit change of IE home page setting".

Step 2: Select the primary key in the "Primary Key" drop-down list box. We select "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" here.

third step: then fill in the appropriate information in the sub-key "child key" entry: "Software \\ Policies \\ Microsoft \\ Internet Explorer \\ Control Panel". And in the "key name" fill in the registry key name: "HomePage".

Step 4: This step is more important, set specific key value information. First select the desired type in the "Data Type" drop-down list box, in this case you want to select the double byte, which is "DWORD". Next, you need to set the value when it is selected. The "value when selected" here means that there is an option box in front of each setting item name. If you click it, it means that the setting is effective, then the key value that should be met when it is valid, in this case should be filled in "1", and the value of "unchecked value" is the opposite, so fill in "0" Of course, you can also decide whether to check the "Delete this key value directly when unchecked" item as needed.

Step 5: Finally, select or create a new level in the “Groups” item to facilitate management. For example, in this example, the author newly enters a group name "IE browser settings" and clicks the "OK" button.

After setting up, how do we use these registry skills? In Figure 2, select the "IE browser settings" group, check "Do not change the IE home page settings", and then click the "Settings" button, and then confirm the settings in the prompt box. Let's verify the settings, go to the "Control Panel /Internet Properties /General" tab, we can see that the "Use Current Page", "Use Default Page", "Use Blank Page" buttons are grayed out. . Set up successfully! To cancel this setting, simply deselect "Disable changes to IE home page settings" and click the "Settings" button.
