Win10 Tip: One command makes the sleep file slim down 60%

In Windows system, the hibernation function has been welcomed by many users, because it can save all the data in the current memory to the hard disk and then turn off the power, and can be quickly restored to the shutdown after booting again. The former state eliminates the complicated process of boot loading, which is very efficient before the popularity of SSD. However, at that time, due to the limited capacity of some users' hard disks, they were not willing to put a few GB (the user with a small memory may have a smaller hard disk ……) content on the C drive. After all, the C drive is easy to burst, so the user Reluctantly cut love (or under the optimization of the revised system and third-party software), directly turn off this function, free up space for sleeping files.

In fact, Microsoft has already considered this point, so it has introduced a sleep file slimming mechanism, but this mechanism is turned off by default in Win7/Win8.1 and needs to be manually turned on. In Win10, it has been turned on by default, and the percentage of slimming is intelligently adjusted, but the user can also manually adjust it. The maximum weight loss can reach 60%, that is, the sleep file after slimming only accounts for 40% of the memory capacity. Xiaobian will tell you how to use this feature.

▲ Picture Description: Test the Windows7 system hibernation file slimming command in the virtual machine (4GB x 80%)
The following is the command usage method (using Windows10 as an example):
1, as an administrator Run the command prompt
2, execute the following command (as shown below):
powercfg hibernate size XX

Note: The above "XX" represents the percentage value, the range is an integer from 40 to 100. Entering a value below 40 will keep the size of the hibernation file at 40% of the system memory size.

▲ Picture Description: The test machine memory size is 16GB, and the maximum size of the hibernation file becomes 6.39GB (16 x 40%).

If your hard disk is large enough, you can enter 100 directly after the command, keep the amount equal to the memory size, so the performance is best. If your hard disk space is limited and you don't want to use the hibernation function, you can also use the soft media cube (click to download) to set the master to close, as shown below ——
