win10 or will support Ubuntu system running
last night at 23:30, Microsoft will hold the Build 2016 Developer Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, USA. According to foreign media reports, Microsoft will announce an important cooperation with Canonical at this conference, so that Ubuntu can run on Win10.
Microsoft had a more stringent security mechanism before the conference, so there is no more details about this collaboration. But one thing is for sure. The so-called Ubuntu running on Win10 should not be running a full Ubuntu system. Instead, it integrates a container of Ubuntu system in Win10 and makes it exist as a subsystem.
This function does not make much sense to ordinary users, mainly for the convenience of developers, so Win10 will not include this feature by default, but need to download and install a tool to achieve. In addition, the collaboration between the two companies will allow Ubuntu systems to run certain Windows libraries and gradually reduce reliance on the Unity interface, instead relying on Bash and a range of CLI tools (including make, gawk and grep).
