Home Tamper Protection Lock Win7 Registry Editor

After installing some software, our computer will always have a small change, not a few more URL icons on the desktop, that is, the default home page of IE browser has been tampered with into a messy URL. The most annoying thing is that after changing the default home page in the IE settings, the next time you start Win7, it will change back! The default home page of IE cannot be changed back. It must be the default home page item in the Win7 system registry. Tampered. In order to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to start with a strong one and directly lock the Win7 system registry. Disabling access to the registry not only prevents changes to the program, but also protects the computer better, but only if you have administrator privileges. Log in to an account with administrator privileges, type the command: gpedit.msc in the Start Search box and press Enter.

If the user account control window pops up, please allow to continue.

Open the Group Policy Editor. In the directory window on the left, navigate to “User Configuration>Administrative Templates>System”.

Click “System”;From the right detail window, find "Block access to the registry editing tool", double click to open.

The default state is “unconfigured”, here we set it to “enabled”, then click “OK> to save your changes.

OK! Restart the computer test, Win7 will pop up the disable prompt after opening the registry. This time, changes to the program settings are not easy to take effect!
