Windows 7 will enhance support for Hyper-Threading

Veghte said at the TechEd 2009 conference in Los Angeles: "Our work on the Windows 7 scheduler and system cores can take advantage of these technologies (hyperthreading) and ultimately give users a more advanced, A better experience. & rdquo;

This is really good news for Hyper-Threading technology, which is often seen as a chicken. As early as the Pentium 4 era, hyperthreading has caused widespread concern, but due to processor architecture, system software support and other reasons, there has been no obvious advantage, and sometimes it will bring side effects, and then canceled. In the latest Nehalem architecture, Intel brought Hyper-Threading back. The effect is much better than a few years ago, but there are still not many 3D games and applications that can provide good support. Now there is the bottom layer of the operating system. Support will undoubtedly be a very powerful booster.

Veghte also said that Microsoft is working hard to ensure that Windows 7 is no longer plagued by compatibility issues like Windows Vista, and is very close to being fully compatible with almost all important hardware and software. “At the RC stage, more than 10,000 commercial and commercial companies participated in the development of Windows 7 and promised their support for the new system. We have to get the entire ecosystem completely and completely ready. We have invested a lot of energy into this. At the individual level, this is one of the top three things. ”

Veghte also disclosed that Microsoft expects to complete Windows 7 development work around mid-August and provide the final version for consumers and business customers in the end of the year.
