How to retrieve lost Microsoft Security Essentials right scan menu

Some users do not have the option to "Scan with Microsoft Security Essentials" after right-clicking on a file/folder after installing MSE. This issue may be caused by the installation of a modified operating system or the use of other optimization software. The table key value has been tampered with, and it can be fixed as follows!

Create related registry key values

Open Notepad and copy and paste the following registry information:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*shellexContextMenuHandlersEPP]

@="{09A47860-11B0-4DA5-AFA5-26D86198A780}"

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOTDirectoryshellexContextMenuHandlersEPP]

@="{09A47860-11B0-4DA5-AFA5-26D86198A780}"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClassesDriveshellexContextMenuHandlersEPP]

@="{09A47860-11B0-4DA5-AFA5-26D86198A780 }"

Then save the file as “MSE Fix.reg”, note the extension reg, save as “all files(*.*)” Instead of & ldquo; text files (txt) & rdquo ;.

Double-click the MSE Fix.reg file on the desktop to import the registry. When the confirmation prompt pops up, click “yes".

After importing, right click again to check the problem, the problem can be solved. If an exception occurs, please use the registry backed up in the first step to restore.
