Win7 system boot prompts "have a duplicate name on the network" how to solve?

Recently, some netizens purchased a new computer and installed their own popular Win7 system. However, after the installation was restarted, a “renamed window” appeared on the network in the lower right corner of the desktop. What is this? What about the problem? How can we solve this problem with "renamed on the network"?

& ldquo;There is a duplicate name on the network. It is mainly the sequelae left by the mass installation. At this time, we only need to change the computer name.

Solution:

Right click on the desktop <;My Computer", select “Properties", look for “computer name” in the pop-up window, click Then click “Change” under the computer name page, then enter your own name, or the current detailed time as the computer name, click OK, and then restart your computer.

Remarks:

1. Some computers can't click when they change ” the changes are gray. This is due to the lack of current system login permissions. You can switch between them. The account with administrative rights can be operated, or the administrator can help to modify it;

2. When choosing the computer name, some friends are not willing to expose themselves on the network, and can use the combination of surname and current time. Such as chen20101008, although the computer name has a limit, but may wish to use;

Example 2:

Users connected to the campus network sometimes pop up a prompt on the screen "There is a heavy on the network Name & rdquo;, then your machine may not be able to connect properly. The reason for this is that the names of the machines in a LAN must be different, but many users do not change the default name when installing the operating system, such as “Microsoft", which causes host name conflicts.

To change the hostname, click on the following link: "My Computer"-“Property”-“Computer Name”-“Change”, then in “Computer Name&rdquo Fill in your favorite hostname in that column and try to avoid conflicts with others.

Why is there a duplicate name on the network?

There are many names on the network that use the unattended installation mode when installing the system. More is due to the large-scale ghost restore of the pirated system.

There are currently not many systems that use genuine systems. Even many companies and public agencies have bought genuine systems, but because of the cumbersome installation and the time-consuming update of patches, most of them use a prototype, update patches, install common software, use ghost backup, and then other models of the same type. Use ghost to restore on your computer.

Some simply use pirated systems. Some pirated systems have adopted the current installation time as the computer name to avoid the problem of “renamed” on the network.

The computer appears "There is a duplicate name on the network"; the problem is not contradictory with the Internet, but if a user needs to use My Network Places to share folders and share printers, it will be affected. Sometimes the Internet is intermittent, because there are too many computers with the same name in the same network segment, so changing the computer name can solve this problem.
