When viewing images in BMP, JPEG, GIF, GI F, etc. in thumbnail or slideshow in Explorer, even when browsing PDF and HTM documents, the default settings will automatically generate relevant The thumbnail cache, which is the Thumbms.db file that appears again after deletion, and these files are always repeated under the image folder.

However, when you enter the Windows Vista era, you will find that Thumbs.db can't be found under the image folder. Have they changed their minds to no longer exist? Of course not, Microsoft's designers just changed the thumbnails. Storage methods, they are stored together, the path is located in "X:\\Users\\Administrator\\AppData\\Local\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Explorer\\”, here "X: ” is the Windows Vista installation disk Drive letter. As shown in the figure, here we can see a lot of files with file names similar to thumbcache_sr.db. These files are very large and take up a lot of disk space. For example, the size of this file reaches an astonishing 159MB. More, it is recommended to clean up regularly. However, when deleting these files, you need to obtain the appropriate permissions. If you are afraid of trouble, simply restart to another system and periodically complete the deletion.

Tip: If you want to un-cache the thumbnail function under Windows XP, you can open the “ folder option → view & rdquo; dialog box, check here & ldquo; do not cache thumbnails & rdquo; check The box is fine.
