System startup menu method to add security mode

The system needs to be in safe mode. You need to press F8 at startup and then select "safe mode" in the startup mode menu. If we add "safe mode" to the system startup menu, it is more convenient to enter safe mode. The author below teaches us to add the security mode to the boot menu of Win7 or Win XP.

Adding Safe Mode to Win 7 Startup Menu

Because the Windows 7 boot menu uses BCD configuration files, we just need to add the Safe Mode menu to the BCD file. BCD file editing can be done with the help of "Bcdtool".

1. After starting "Bcdtool", open "C:\\boot\\bcd", then expand to "Windows Boot Manager→Windows Boot Loader", and then click "Edit→Copy Startup" in the menu bar. ", copy a current startup item to the list.

2. After selecting the copied startup item, double-click the “Description” in the right pane to open it, change its name to “Safe Mode”, and successfully add the “Safe Mode” menu to manage Launch the System Configuration Utility as a member.

3. Switch to the "Boot" tab, select "Safe Mode", check "Safe Boot" under "Boot Options", and select "Small", the timeout is set to "5" seconds. This will add the safe mode to the BCD menu.

After saving, the Notepad window is closed. (Figure 2)

3, click "Start" → Run, enter msconfig Enter in the "Run" window that opens, or click "OK" to open the "System Configuration" Utility dialog box, under the "BOOT.INI" tab, click "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Security Mode" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect "Line (that is, the line that we copied, pasted, and modified when we opened the boot.ini file with Notepad), and then checked the "/SAFEBOOT(F)" item in the "Startup Options" underneath it. Then select the NETWORK (meaning the security mode with network connection). (Figure 3)

This will add the "/safeboot:network" field after the selected line, so when restarting the machine, we press the down cursor key, You will find an extra line of "Microsoft Windows XP Security Mode" in the boot menu. Selecting this will start the machine in a secure mode with a network connection.

When you restart now, you can see the security mode in the Win7 or WinXP boot menu. You can easily enter it by directly selecting "Safe Mode", or you can easily press F8 to enter the original advanced boot menu.
