Windows7 System File Sharing

Q: I like to taste new things. Now I am still using Windows XP on my computer. I have installed Windows 7 on my personal computer. But in the local area network, the use of the network neighborhood is very inconvenient, I shared a certain folder, but other computers did not access it! Special help network report!

A: In order to facilitate the exchange of Windows 7 and XP, the first step must be to confirm that all computers are in the same workgroup, and the computer name cannot be renamed. Try to name it meaningfully for identification.

You can then control similar settings for Windows 7: Open Control Panel→Network and Sharing Center→Change Advanced Sharing Settings. Check the following four buttons: "take network found", "take file and printer sharing", "take public folder sharing", and "close password protected sharing". Xiaobian reminder: It is recommended to choose to share media stream, and select "Allow Windows to manage family group connection" under the family or work column.

Next click on the folder you want to share, select "Properties → Sharing → Advanced Sharing", check "Share this folder", click Apply, OK and close. Once the upper level folder can be shared, each subfolder also inherits the default share.

Next, the most important step: you have to use the folder's security permissions to allow everyone to access. Right-click on the shared folder, select "Properties → Security → Edit → Add", type "everyone", and click OK. In the Permissions box, select the permissions you want to give, such as "Full Control," "Change," and "Read."

Because the default setting of Windows' own firewall is to allow file and printer sharing, if you have a third-party firewall, you must also ensure that it takes file and printer sharing, otherwise it will encounter obstacles.
