Transfer Windows xp settings and data to Windows 7

Now Win7 is getting more and more accepted, if you are preparing to replace XP system with Win7 system, how to What about the transfer settings?

Preparation on XP system: Log in with the administrator account, insert Win7 CD, run the program "\\SUPPORT\\MIGWIZ\\MIGWIZ

.EXE" in Win7 system disk, you can start "Windows Easy Transfer." For the case of only one computer, we choose "external hard drive or USB flash drive" (Figure 2).

Afterwards, “Windows Easy Transfer” starts to search for content that can be transferred in accounts and shared projects. The time required is related to the number of files. You need to wait until the search is completed before you can continue to the next step. For the content of an account, check the account, and all other checkmarks are removed (Figure 3). Enter “Custom” and “Advanced” for more detailed selection. After “Next”, you will be asked to set a password. This is to protect the security of personal files and privacy. I have to say that Windows considerations are still very thoughtful. Then choose the file path to save these data, you can exist on the U disk or hard disk partition, be careful not to choose the system partition, so as not to be lost due to reinstalling the system. Windows Easy Transfer saves the selection to a single file with the suffix "MIG".

Tip: If you find that the files you need to transfer are large, you can uncheck the unnecessary files on the non-system disk and other places in the customization.

Reinstalled the Windows 7 system, after logging in to the system as an administrator user (the first user created when the system is installed is the administrator), first install the commonly used software such as Office, and then double-click the generated file. The Windows Easy Transfer program can be launched and you need to enter the correct password to continue. If the transferred content contains multiple account information, before clicking "Transfer", it is best to click "Advanced Options", set up the transfer relationship between accounts, and finally "transfer". Transfer is as simple as this! After the transfer is complete, go to “View Transferred Content” to view the transfer report, including the details of the file transfer and program settings transfer (Figure 4).

Tip: It is best to turn off the security software such as the computer butler before sending, so as to avoid endless warnings during the transmission. In addition, it is best not to perform other operations during the transmission process to avoid transmission errors.
