Go to the "Operation Center" and click "Scan Now" on the right side of "Windows Defender" to quickly scan the hard disk on the computer that is most likely to be infected with spyware (recommended to check immediately before scanning) Update "Update harmful software definitions". If you suspect that your computer has been infected by spyware, it is best to perform a full scan (Figure 3). A full scan checks all files on the hard drive and all currently running programs, but may cause the computer to run slower.

If you suspect that spyware is only infected with a specific area of ​​your computer, you can save a lot of scan time by selecting only the drives and directories you want to check for custom scans.

Setting up backups to prevent problems before they happen

Due to virus or worm attacks, hardware and software failures, and accidental deletion or replacement of files, file loss or overwriting may occur. Good habits, backup methods include file backup and system backup.

Go to the "Operation Center", click the "Set Backup" button on the right side of "Setup Backup", select the location where you want to save the backup (except the system disk), the backup content has "Let Windows choose" and "Let me Select "two ways, the latter is more flexible (Figure 4), recommend the choice, and then select the data file (usually the library file), drive or system image in the backup content dialog box as needed. Once you start the backup, you will see the “Backup” prompt on the right side of “Backup”. If you want to view the details of the backup, click the “View Details” button on the right to see the file being backed up.

The backup method is different, and the restore method is of course different. If you need to restore the file, click "Backup and Restore" in the lower left corner of "Operation Center", then click the "Restore My Files" button on the right side of "Restore", click "Browse Folder", and finally select the files and directories to be restored. Follow the prompts. If there is a serious problem in the system and need to restore the system, start "System Restore", one or more automatic restore points will be displayed in the window, and check "Show more restore points" to display the system image restore points (Figure 5) Finally, select the system image, then follow the prompts all the way, and finally restart the computer. It should be noted that in order for System Restore to work properly, the anti-virus software must be turned off before the operation.
