Preview has a detailed description of Win7's "preview pane"

Since the birth of Windows, the content of the file is just a "double click". It should be said that this method is very convenient for dealing with one or two files, at least in line with the thinking habits of most people. But if you are dealing with dozens of files and hundreds of different files, you need to enable different programs each time, which is too much trouble. In fact, in the Win7 we use every day, there are many hidden secrets hidden in the world. One of them is to use the resource manager to directly view the file contents. And Microsoft also gave it a nice name, called the preview pane.

I. Word/Excel Preview

Strictly speaking, the "Preview Pane" is not the first of Win7, but it is carried forward in the Win7 era. Let's just say that as long as the format supported by your computer, you can use it to "preview" almost successfully, including PDF, TXT, DOC, XLS, JPG, BMP... which are familiar to everyone.

Perhaps you have already seen that the biggest difference between the preview pane and the software opening is that the display space is too narrow. Don't worry, the size of the pane is also adjustable. Just hover your mouse over the thin line between the preview window and the file list and drag it to the left and right. Of course, like many functions in Win7, the system will automatically remember your resizing this time, and will not be lost after restarting.

II. Document a test

1. TXT preview

TXT is the most basic text format, of course, there is no problem with the preview. It can be seen that the user can arbitrarily scroll through the contents of the file, and the layout display is basically normal. Even you can use the shortcut key (Ctrl+C) to achieve a quick copy of a small piece of text.

2. JPG Preview

JPG images support preview, and especially amazing, it actually supports the standard right-click menu, and is exactly the same in the file list.

3. Word/Excel Preview

If you have Office software installed on your computer, you can preview Word and Excel files. The whole process is very similar to TXT, but it is more user-friendly, allowing the user to right-click and select "Copy" or "Select All". In addition, if the document contains images, it can also be displayed together.

Excel more powerful, and even contains Sheet and scroll bars, and of course, like Word documents, also with a right-click menu.

In addition to the traditional .doc and .xls documentation, if you have a new version of Office installed, you can preview both the .docx and .xlsx high-end Office documents.

4. PDF Preview

If you have a PDF reader (the author uses the free version of Adobe PDF Reader), you can also preview the PDF file directly. The effect is basically the same as the software display, right-clicking the support document's forward/counterclockwise rotation, which is of course sufficient in general.

Postscript

In short, compared with the traditional double-click opening, the biggest benefit of the preview pane is that it is convenient, not only can achieve the display effect of comparable software, but also the type of support is very wide. The most important thing is that it can display every word in the document completely, which is not as simple as "preview"!
