Sharing printers through the Win7 family group Life is more convenient

There is only one printer
in the home. Other computers want to print documents and have to send the files to that one first, which is a waste of time. If both computers have Win7 installed, this problem is easy to solve. As long as you create a family group on Win7 and let other Win7 computers in your home join the group, you can achieve printer sharing.

Create a home group

Open the "Control Panel" by clicking the "Start" button on the Win7 computer connected to the printer. You can find the "Family Group" option by typing "Family" in the search box.

Open Family Group Options

Click "Create Family Group" in the "Family Group" window and check the content you want to share. The printer is naturally required. Documents, music, pictures and other content can be decided according to your needs.

Select the content to share

Click "Next", the system will give a string of irregular characters, this is the password of the family group.

Write down the family group password

Write down the string of passwords and click "Finish" to save and close the settings. Other Win7 computers in the home can be added to this family group with a password.

Join the family group

To join the existing family group, also open the "Family Group" setting from the control panel, you will find the button that shows "Create Family Group". It has become "immediately join".

Also select the content that can be shared to the family group on this computer, and then enter the correct family group password in the next step, you can join this group.

Using a shared printer in the home group

After joining a family group with a printer, the system automatically detects the printer on the network. Automatically connecting the printer does not require any action, as long as the family group has been added, the printer will be listed in "Devices and Printers". Click the "Start" button to open "Devices and Printers". If the location shows the printer device, then everything is ready and the printer is ready for use.

If the printer is not listed in "Devices and Printers", but you can see a message stating "Windows found a home group printer", then click on the message to start the printer installation .

In addition to printers, the Win7 Homegroup also supports photo, video, music and document sharing, and even plays music directly on the home group's computer. This easy-to-share feature provided by Win7 not only makes our lives and work more efficient, but also enhances mutual understanding among family members.
