The desktop background cannot be changed. Solution

  
Windows 7/Windows Vista The desktop background suddenly cannot be changed? Most of the cases are caused by viruses. Please give priority to anti-virus first, and recommend to enter safe mode for anti-virus. If there is no effect, try the following method.
  • Method 1
    Enter the Easy Access Center in the Start Search box and press Enter. Pull the slider to "Browse all settings”. Click “ Make your computer easier to see”. Look at the bottom of the window “ Make the content displayed on the screen easier to view & rdquo; part & ldquo; delete the background image (if any) & rdquo; Is it checked? If so, please clear the check. Can I check if the wallpaper can be changed? If it still doesn't work, please continue to Method 2.
  • Method 2
    (This step requires administrator privileges) How to set up blocking desktop background changes in Group Policy. Similarly, to change the background, reverse the operation and configure them separately to “not configured” If your system version does not support the Group Policy Editor, you can try to modify it directly from the registry as follows: Use the key combination <;Win+R” to bring up the run command box. Type regedit.exe and press Enter to open the Registry Editor. (If the User Account Control window pops up, allow to continue) Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\\\Software\\\\Microsoft\\\\Windows\\\\CurrentVersion\\\\Policies Locate the ActiveDesktop entry. (If not, right-click on “Policies”, select “New->Items” and name it ActiveDesktop) Click to expand ActiveDesktop, right-click on the right detail window and select “New->DWORD Value&rdquo” ;, named NoChangingWallPaper.
