Retrieving the lost mobile device drive letter in Windows 7

A friend who uses a card reader under Windows 7 may find that when we plug the card reader into the PC, it was originally in the "My Computer" of Windows XP system. A card reader that displays the reader name and removable memory icon, but does not display anything in the Windows 7 Computer interface.

Is the card reader missing? Or not recognized for Windows7? In general, when you encounter this problem, everyone will go to the "Disk Manager" to see if it is a drive letter conflict or if a mobile device is detected.

Right-click the "Computer" item in the "Start" menu and select "Manage" to open the "Computer Management" dialog box. On the left side, select the “Storage→Disk Management” item. All the existing disk information of the machine will appear on the right side, including the card reader without any display in the “Computer” interface (in this case, it is displayed as “Disk”. 1 removable"). Note that the card reader has actually been recognized by the system. Then the next question is simple, it just doesn't show up, it may just be hidden by Windows7.

●View in Disk Manager

Click on the Explorer icon in the taskbar to enter the corresponding interface. Click Organize → Folders and Search Options to open the Folder Options dialog box, switch to the View tab, and in the Advanced Settings list, uncheck "Hide empty drives in computer folders", and Check the box "Do not show hidden files, folders or drives", click the "OK" button, and the card reader letter that disappears in "Computer" will come back.
