Easily modify the background image of Window 7 login interface

In XP and Vista, we modify the background of the login interface to replace the original image in the Logonui.exe file with a tool such as ResHacker, and then modify the original image. The Logonui.exe file is replaced by the file with the same name in the directory "X:\\Windows\\System32" (X is the system disk, the same below). Think about it! This is really a very cumbersome process, and there are certain risks. If the system is not working properly, it will not work properly. However, in Windows 7, it is a background image that supports the custom login interface. It is much more convenient to modify the background of the login interface.

First step: first click "Start → Run", open the "Run" dialog box and enter "Regedit" (excluding the outside quotes); then click the "OK" button to open the Registry Editor, Then navigate to the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Authentication\\LogonUI\\Background" branch; you will find a double-byte value called "OEMBackground" (if you don't have one, you can create one yourself), and finally right click on it. Double-byte value, select Modify, and change its value to 1.

●Modify the registry value

Step 2: Open the "C:\\Windows\\System32\\oobe" directory, and then create a directory named "info" in the directory. The folder is opened, then a folder named "backgrounds" is created in the open directory, and the background image of the JPG format prepared in advance is adjusted to a size of 1024 × 768 pixels, and finally the adjusted background image is saved. Go to the "C:\\Windows\\System32\\oobeinfo\\backgrounds" directory and the file name is "backgroundDefault.jpg". After completing the above two steps, log out or restart the system, we can see the effect of the modified login interface.

Tips: The background image of our edited login screen is “backgroundDefault.jpg”, and its volume must be controlled. Within 250KB; otherwise, the background image of our modified login screen will not display properly.
