When you are officially purchased genuine or have an installation CD for Windows 8.1, this document will take you step by step to upgrade to Windows 8.1 through a new CD installation. The disc image used can be obtained from a Microsoft MSDN subscription account or a TechNet subscription account or a third party website.
The test hardware of this document is Lenovo IdeaPad Y400 notebook, the hardware configuration is Intel I5 3210M, 4G memory, 1TB hard disk, and the test ISO CD image file used is Microsoft MSDN subscription account download. All of the following test screens and test times are measured on this hardware platform and are for reference only.
The specific installation upgrade method can refer to the following steps. Due to the upgrade installation of the system, computer settings, data changes or loss may be caused. It is recommended that you do a backup of your personal data before the actual operation.
1. After inserting the system installation CD into the CD-ROM drive (or connecting the U disk to the computer), press the F12 key to call the boot menu and select the installation media according to the situation; (Figure 1 is the CD-ROM guide. Figure 2 shows the USB and other installation media boot, USB recommends preferentially choose Legacy mode)


2. Continuously hit the Enter key on the keyboard twice (Enter key), wait for the installation interface to appear, click directly <;Next>;

3. Select "Install Now";

4. Enter the 25-digit product key and click Next;

5. First check "“ I accept the license terms", then click “Next";

6. Click Next to select Custom Install;

7. Unassigned disk selected , click “New”;

8. Enter the size of the partition you want to create. It is recommended that the system partition size be 50G, click “Apply”. Please note: There is data risk in operating the hard disk. When you confirm that there is no important data in the hard disk or have been backed up, then format the hard disk partition. In order to avoid loss of property caused by data loss;

9. Pop-up window click “ OK”;

10. Click “Next”;

11. Waiting for installation, this process lasts for about 10— 20 minutes;

12. The computer starts to restart;

13. Enter the computer name, and then click “Next”;

14. Click “Use Quick Set>;

15. If there is a wireless network, you will be prompted to connect to the network, as shown in the figure:

16. If you can connect to the network, then Microsoft created network will enter the account; (FIG. A)
If the system is not successfully connected to the network, then select & ldquo; create local accounts & rdquo ;; (FIG. B)


17. computer "Hello", wait a moment;

18. Start the UI interface, click "Desktop" to enter the Windows traditional desktop;
