Why Windows 8 can't search for file content

When you upgrade from Windows XP to Windows 8, you will find that when you use the "Search" function in Windows XP, you can use the contents of the file as a keyword to search, but in Windows 8, When you type the keyword in the "Search" box, sometimes you can search for the file name and file content at the same time. Sometimes, for example, when searching for files in U disk, only the file name is searched.
What is going on? Actually, this is the default search option for Windows 8. The following operations can make Windows 8 always search for the file name and content at the same time:
1. Point the mouse pointer to the lower right or upper right corner of the screen. Then click the “Search” charm.
2. Click on the “application” under the search box, then type “file explorer in the search box, click on the <quo;file explorer found in the upper left corner of the screen, open Windows “ File Explorer & rdquo; window.
3. Click the “View” tab, then click “Options" to open the “Folder Options” dialog.
4. Click the "Search” tab, under "When searching for unindexed locations> under the heading, check “Always search for filenames and content (this process may take a few minutes)” Check the box and click the “OK” button.
Originally, the Windows 8 search function defaults to searching for file names and content in indexed locations; in the absence of indexing, only search for filenames. Although most of the files on the computer are automatically indexed,
there are still some missing fish, such as temporary external mobile storage devices.
Of course, after you have made the above settings, when you type a keyword in the search box of Windows 8, you will always find the file name and find the contents of the file at the same time.
