Successfully install Win8 on a Mac using Boot Camp

After the release of the Windows 8 Developer Preview, many people want to know if they can use Windows Boot to install Windows directly on a Mac. The answer is yes, but you need the latest version of Boot Camp.

After installing Windows 8 with Boot Camp, click on “Desktop> to access a desktop similar to Windows 7. Set the setup.exe file to be compatible with Windows 7 from the hard drive containing the Boot Camp driver, otherwise the Apple installer will recognize an unknown version of Windows and the installation will fail.

Here's how:

Open the WindowsSupport folder, right click on setup.exe and select "Troubleshoot compatibility";

Detect problems Then click “Troubleshoot program”;

Select the first item (as shown below), click Next;

Select &ldquo ;Windows 7”Click Next;

After rebooting the Boot Camp wizard, all drivers will be up and running.

Don't forget to go to the Boot Camp control panel to open “Tap to Click ” and “two finger right-click” otherwise the touch panel will not be scrollable on the Metro style Start start screen.

If the setup.exe file does not work, then you can try the following method: Open the “Drivers” folder under "WindowsSupport", here is a large number of single driver installers, you can manually Install them, and some users have successfully solved the problem using this method.

In addition, if you have tried a lot of methods or can't run Windows 8, you can try to install 32-bit Windows 8 version. At least in 2011, the new version of MacBook Air works.
