Windows 8 restore classic start menu

Windows 8 developer preview version has been released, I believe everyone has begun to experience, but the current Windows 8 is still in very early development stage, many user interfaces are not perfect It may bring a lot of awkwardness to the early adopters, especially the classic start menu is replaced by the Metro UI interface, which is difficult to get used to on non-touch screens.

The good news is that there is now a way to get Windows 8 new experience back to the classic start menu, which is the style of returning to Windows 7.

The steps are as follows:

1. Run “regedit” to open the Registry Editor.

2. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\\Software\\Microsoft\\Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Explorer.

3. Change the value of RPEnabled on the right from 1 to 0.

This traditional start menu is back. To restore it, just change the value of RPEnabled back to 1.

However, it should be noted that this modification also disables the Metro UI interface.
